The state's conservation cost-share that the District uses is administered through a grant form the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) via the Agriculture Resource Conservation Fund (ARCF). The program is established to improve water quality and is geared towards those lands that drain into a stream listed on the state's 303d list of impaired streams. Eligible practices include gully control structures, terraces, grass establishment, winter cover crop establishment, livestock watering facilities, and cross-fencing. Cost-share is usually 75% of the cost but can be as much as 85%.
