Grass Waterways

Waterways are the areas along the valley floor of   fields where storm runoff is intercepted and eventually channels the runoff out of the field. To prevent steeper waterways from eroding a permanent vegetation cover will need to be established and maintained.  In most instances some widening and shaping maybe necessary. Where waterways drop abruptly, such as into creeks, a grade stabilization structure maybe needed to prevent the waterway from degrading and forming a deep gully.  Vegetated waterways can be used as safe outlets for terraces and diversions.
