Although our efforts are focused directly on the conservation of soil, water, plants, animals, and air, the prime natural resource that our work seeks to conserve, and why we work to conserve, is people and our way of life. Every ten years the U.S. conducts a census of its citizens. The last census was undertaken in 2010. The latest census data shows Madison County having a population of 98,294. Populations of Madison County cities are Jackson 65,211, Three Way 1,709, Medon 178, and that part of Humboldt within Madison County 78.
